Job Summary
Engineering Technician responsible for providing Manufacturing Engineering support to the plant to maximize the availability of manufacturing equipment. Perform day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance to sustain manufacturing and utility equipment; liaise with Production to optimize equipment performance; maintain records and documentation on engineering procedures and maintenance; collaborate with internal/external engineering personnel and contract maintenance providers for troubleshooting, installation/commissioning, and CIP/ process improvement projects. Establish department goals with the engineering team leader, stay updated on technology relevant to processes, and ensure safety standards and compliance during maintenance. Cross-train within manufacturing engineering and supervise external contractors; support audits and calibration activities; drive equipment/process upgrades in a culture of continuous improvement; contribute to achieving output and yield targets. Requires relevant electrical/mechanical trade exams or a bachelor's-level engineering qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing equipment within the pharmaceutical/industrial environment, with knowledge of equipment such as Glass Lined and Hastelloy Reactors, Thermal Oxidizers, Filter Dryers, Vacuum Pumps, Milling machines, Isolators, Purified water systems, and related utilities.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Electrical, Mechanical trade exams or academic engineering qualification to Ordinary degree level at a minimum
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry at an equivalent position
- Detailed functional knowledge required of wide range of manufacturing equipment such as Glass Lined and Hastelloy Reactors, Thermal Oxidizer, Filter Dryers, Vacuum Pumps, Universal Milling Machine, Isolators, Purified water systems, Air Handling Units and Utilities
