Job Summary
Provide technical support to engineers on steam and electric plant maintenance tasks for the A4W Aircraft Carrier Overhaul Program. Gather, format, and compile technical data including laboratory results and engineering design changes while producing documentation, reports, and schematics. Perform detailed mathematical calculations and preliminary analyses of data regarding trajectory adequacy and model consistency using established formulas. Conduct tests to record data and assist with engineering evaluations, utilizing the electronic Shift Operating Management System for Navy Work Authorization Forms and tag-outs. Requires an associates degree or equivalent with one year of experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and a Secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related (DoD/USN) experience
- Experience with Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAF's) and tag-outs using the electronic Shift Operating Management System (eSOMS) or E-Tagout
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and test procedures
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- US citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in applying the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)/Tag-out User's Manual (TUM) requirements to systems maintenance and testing in a depot level maintenance period
- Previous experience supporting Steam and Electric Plant testing or operations
