Job Summary
Provide Electrical Engineering leadership and governance as the lead authority across the IPP portfolio, managing standards and technical assurance frameworks. Deliver expert input during project development, including concept design, reference design development, technology selection, and grid connection strategy. Support all phases from FEED through construction, commissioning, and handover, while providing technical leadership across HV, MV, and LV systems, substations, SCADA, and renewable generation assets. Lead investigations and contribute to asset reliability and performance improvement initiatives. Provide day-to-day leadership and technical mentorship to in-house engineers and contractors. Requires tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with 12-15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure and power generation.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering
- Approx 12-15 years' experience in electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, power generation, transmission, or renewable energy assets
- Experience leading a small engineering team, whilst maintaining hands on in design
- Experience across renewable / hybrid generation projects within an IPP, EPC, utility, owner's engineer, or developer environment
- Demonstrated experience acting as a technical authority on complex power projects
- Experience with grid connection processes and power system studies
- Strong understanding of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
- In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, network requirements, and power industry practices
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
