Engineering Support Specialist

Job Summary

Conduct technical construction observation, quality assurance data analysis, and administrative lifecycle tracking across all phases of assigned surge projects for the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron at RAF Mildenhall. Review preliminary drawings and construction drawings to analyze technical submittals for adherence to federal, host-nation, and local codes. Organize technical tasks, synthesize data across multiple engineering disciplines, and draft timely engineering recommendations for the Government PM while managing project expenditures and facility programming cycles. Maintain a NACI/CAC clearance and possess a valid CSCS card to access active UK construction sites. Requires seven years of professional-level experience in construction and/or engineering support with a demonstrated focus on technical site observation and drafting quality assurance reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional-level experience in construction and/or engineering support
  • A demonstrated focus on technical site observation
  • Drafting quality assurance reports
  • Technical submittal analysis
  • Must be qualified to access active UK construction sites
  • Possess or be able to obtain within the first 30 days on-site a valid CSCS card or equivalent
  • Experience in technical design review
  • Professional knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices
  • Familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines
  • Familiarity with DoD/USAF FSRM processes
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations
  • Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, system capabilities, and scheduling software
  • Understanding of facility programming cycles and cost modeling
  • Skill in preparing project technical documentation
  • Ability to conduct and document site/facility surveys and observations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to draft timely, economical, and technically sound engineering recommendations for the Government PM
  • Ability to organize technical tasks, synthesize data across multiple engineering disciplines, and communicate complex technical information effectively
  • Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously

Desired Qualifications

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or UK equivalent)
  • A relevant environmental certification
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field
