Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor oversees daily hotel maintenance operations to ensure property standards, safety, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include supervising maintenance tasks, executing preventative maintenance, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and ensuring timely completion of repairs and work orders. The role is hands-on and requires repairs across multiple trades, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, as well as overseeing pool equipment, guestroom refurbishments, and general upkeep while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes. The position also involves maintaining accurate maintenance records, scheduling and coordinating trades, and supporting other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team
- Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to professionally handle guest interactions and escalations
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support all departments as needed
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate work assignments effectively
- Proficiency in basic maintenance reporting and work order systems
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition
- Can communicate well with guests
- Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player
- Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments
- Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs
