Job Summary
Lead a team of designers in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of electrical substations while managing P&C design packages for clients across the US. Oversee project execution, including resource planning, risk management, and budgeting, while conducting performance evaluations and providing technical mentorship to direct reports. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and performing quality reviews of design work. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver projects efficiently, assist in proposal preparation, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This remote role requires a PE license and proficiency in substation design software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design of electrical substations
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to effectively organize multiple protection & controls design assignments and competing priorities to produce accurate products on time
- Experience managing design projects, including budgeting, scheduling and risk management
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills, and a successful record of positive interactions with clients
- Experience in creating and reviewing substation p&c design drawings
- Proficiency with current software applications used to perform substation design work
- Ability to successfully work with remotely located team members
- This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment
Desired Qualifications
- PE license highly preferred
