Job Summary
Assist the Director of Engineering with planning, organizing, and directing engineering operations for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry teams. Supervise personnel to ensure quality standards are met, interview candidates, and recommend performance ratings, promotions, and merit increases. Plan and assign work while setting quality expectations and deadlines. Mentor staff to maintain high-level maintenance and repair quality. Work AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts in a high-volume environment. Supports the AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel's goal of exceeding guest expectations through exceptional service and facility management.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building-related trades
- HVAC
- electrical
- plumbing
- carpentry
- Five years related progressively responsible hotel or building maintenance/facilities management experience
- one year of lead experience in a similar setting
- ability to lead others in the department by mentoring and providing training
- excellent customer service/communication skills
- Ability and experience in successfully leading and coordinating staff in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by operational needs
- Experience within a hotel/resort environment
