Job Summary
Lead a small engineering team of design and electrical engineers while performing hands-on design of industrial compressor systems; responsibilities include assigning work, monitoring schedules, producing 2D drawings, electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, BOMs, and 3D models; oversee preparation and release of drawings and documentation; provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback; participate in hiring and onboarding; coordinate with production, sales, and service to support customer projects; support standard product design activities and KPI-driven objectives; require a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 7+ years of relevant experience, hands-on design capability, and proficiency with CAD tools (CREO/Windchill/Microstation preferred); travel up to 10%; on-site manufacturing environment; strong communication and customer service skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- 7+ years of relevant mechanical and electrical system design integration experience
- 2+ years of experience in a lead engineer, team lead, supervisory, or similar technical leadership role
- Experience assigning and prioritizing engineering work, coaching team members, and supporting team development
- Experience conducting performance reviews, supporting hiring, and helping onboard engineering employees
- Advanced experience specifying mechanical, electrical, and communications solutions
- Strong hands-on design background with complex industrial equipment, mechanical systems, or related engineered products
- Advanced 3D solid modeling experience, large assembly management, and detailed drawing development
- Experience with CREO, Windchill, and/or Microstation is preferred
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and assembly procedures, tools, and techniques
- Experience with electrical controls and components, 4-20mA signals, 480VAC power wiring, 120VAC control, 24VDC control, and HMI controls
- Ability to perform hands-on mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting in the field as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple active projects
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to travel up to 10% to job sites as needed
- Ability to occasionally lift 25–50 lbs.
- Comfortable wearing PPE and occasionally working on or around a manufacturing floor
