Job Summary
Conduct preliminary technology assessments to determine potential value, applicability, and business impact for new technologies across production, optimization, recovery, and environmental disciplines. Provide technical support for data analysis and application preparation, while creating reports on emerging technologies in various engineering fields. Execute small projects related to Technology and Innovation, including data wrangling, SQL analysis, machine learning, and Power BI dashboard development. Support collaboration initiatives with external organizations, industry associations, and academic institutions. Maintain and update technology and project databases to track innovation initiatives. Work alongside technical experts and business stakeholders to advance digital and AI initiatives within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Chemical or Mechanical engineering, all other engineering disciplines will be considered
- Required to be physically and mentally fit for work
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license
- A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
- All candidates applying to Canadian Natural must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products is considered an asset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, or Python is considered an asset
