Job Summary
Lead execution of software projects across multiple medical device products from concept through launch and maintenance. Own software roadmaps and strategic efforts including sustaining and exploratory work while providing technical leadership to team members. Collaborate with organizational leaders to develop software processes, tools, and governance, and drive transparent communication regarding technical risks and vulnerabilities. Monitor industry and regulatory trends to prepare the organization for next-generation requirements and lead risk reduction initiatives. Ensure product security and patient safety while balancing business needs, utilizing expertise in ARM Cortex architectures and real-time operating systems.
Required Qualifications
- BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, information management, or related field
- 12+ years of industry experience
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare/medical devices industry
- Deep understanding of ARM Cortex architectures for embedded systems
- Experience with C/C++
- Experience with Shell scripting
- Experience with GitHub configuration management software
- Experience with software quality related tools such as Coverity
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), specifically FreeRTOS
- Experience with design control requirements (CFR 820.30, ISO 13485)
- Experience with risk management (ISO 14971)
- Experience with regulatory guidance
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Required minimum number of days a week onsite
Desired Qualifications
- Bonus points for familiarity with STM32 hardware
