Job Summary
Support supplier execution and issue resolution by tracking actions, identifying risks, and driving timely follow-through. Audit supplier performance, deliverables, and execution plans to ensure alignment with GM requirements and business objectives. Review pricing submissions and commercial inputs to identify risks, then develop dashboards and reports that provide visibility into supplier performance. Partner directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve accountability, schedule adherence, and execution discipline while collaborating with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Analyze manufacturing tooling and production readiness plans to recommend corrective actions and drive continuous improvement of standardized work and governance tools. Communicate concise status updates and key risks to support leadership decision-making. Requires 25-50% local travel within the Warren, MI area, onsite five days per week, and no sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field
- In lieu of a degree, candidates with significant relevant experience in manufacturing, tooling, supplier management, purchasing, quality, launch, or engineering environments
- Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing, tooling, launch, purchasing, supplier quality, or production environment
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and development of tracking tools
- Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard creation, data visualization, and performance reporting
- Working knowledge of General Assembly manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and execution activities
- 5 years of General Assembly tooling and equipment experience OR equivalent experience supporting Body Shop, automation, or manufacturing engineering operations
- Basic understanding of controls, robotics, automation systems, and plant-floor equipment
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Basic familiarity with Teamcenter and NX
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions without direct authority
- Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week and travel as business needs require
- Ability to synthesize technical, operational, and commercial information into actionable recommendations
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to execution excellence
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience auditing supplier processes, performance metrics, commercial submissions, or execution plans
- Experience supporting pricing reviews, quote analysis, cost modeling, or supplier negotiations
- Experience developing or improving standardized work, governance processes, reporting tools, or process documentation
- Experience supporting General Assembly, Body Shop, tooling, launch, manufacturing engineering, or automation operations
- Experience working with GM systems, processes, and supplier management practices
- Ability to translate technical and commercial challenges into concise, leadership-ready updates and recommendations
- Experience supporting supplier performance improvement initiatives and cross-functional issue resolution
- Proven success driving process improvements that improve visibility, accountability, and execution outcomes
