Job Summary

Design, build, and iterate physical prototypes for biological technologies, covering rapid prototyping, CAD modeling, and hands-on hardware fabrication. Troubleshoot electromechanical systems, assemble components, and translate concepts into functioning pilot systems while solving practical problems in a fast-paced, greenfield environment. Lead workstreams by owning design sign-offs, mentoring junior staff, and acting as the technical escalation point for remote teams. Work on-site in San Antonio, Texas, with a first degree in engineering and experience in rapid prototyping or mechanical design required. Join a founding team dedicated to sustainable biotech solutions that protect crops and reduce disease burdens.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering, product design, or design engineering
  • Electrical or electronics engineering, ideally with basic coding/scripting ability
  • Rapid prototyping, model-making, or hardware development
  • Bio-systems, bioengineering, or other biological engineering disciplines
  • First degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical/electronics, biosystems, or a closely related discipline)
  • Rapid prototyping — building, testing, and iterating physical designs quickly
  • CAD design and modelling for mechanical or electromechanical systems
  • Hands-on fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of hardware
  • Practical problem-solving in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment
  • Working from concept through to a functioning prototype or pilot system
  • Legally authorised to work in the US
  • Must be able to work on-site at our new facility in San Antonio, Texas
