Job Summary
Review construction estimates, proposals, and contractual agreements. Develop project schedules for progress billings and monitor cost controls and budgets. Direct the organization of project continuity, including subcontractor data gathering, scope outlining, and trade purchasing. Supervise installation contracts, coordinate material requirements, and manage crew composition. Take immediate action on project problems, identify causes, and report findings to stakeholders. Serve as the first contact for customers while maintaining a safe working environment. Manage domestic job site visits and handle all duties customarily performed for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical
- 7 + years of experience in manufacturing operations of industrial products
- Ability to travel 30% mostly domestic visiting job site locations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing multi discipline projects in industrial construction project management or leading 'Engineer to Order' and 'Configure to Order' Operations with high levels of customer service
- Experience in at least one significant heavy industrial EPC/EPCM project
- Basic knowledge of industry standards such as electrical codes such as the CEC, NEC or certification standards such as CSA, UL, IEC
- Proficiency with project management and accounting tools
- Ability to manage cost account management and reporting
- Strong cross-cultural communicator and relationship builder at all levels of internal and client organization(s) with the ability to work effectively across functions
- Well-developed business acumen and be able to balance a strategic focus with the ability to dig into the details administratively and drive day-to-day performance
- Excellent people leader skills capable of inspiring and developing a best in class organization where results, attitude and behaviors are modeled at all levels
- Strong technical ability. Ability to understand and communicate technology and specifications to customers
- Strong operations leader with additional experience in other areas such as manufacturing, engineering, R&D, business, and market development
- Ability to partner effectively with a senior leadership team and functional leaders in a matrixed environment
- Proven collaborator and relationship building
- Ability to develop and manage a project schedule
