Job Summary
Plan, organize, and manage all engineering work products and deliverables for Saulsbury EPC Project Directors, Construction teams, and Clients. Define project objectives, oversee quality control, and develop execution plans to drive successful strategy while managing scope, budget, and schedule throughout the project life cycle. Direct third-party vendors, fabricators, and subcontractors; facilitate RFIs, change management, and pre-commissioning services. Act as the primary liaison with clients, internal groups, and construction teams to mitigate risk and ensure timely closure of design data and decisions. Monitor project status, pursue corrective action, and allocate staff within budgetary constraints. Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 5+ years of experience in mission critical facilities or industrial EPC; primary base in Odessa or Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, architectural, or chemical engineering
- Primary base location in either Odessa, TX or Houston, TX
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering project management, project engineering, or related technical leadership experience
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing design deliverables in a fast-paced, construction-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and other project management, document control, or collaboration tools
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications, P&IDs where applicable, single-line diagrams, equipment data, and technical documentation
- Impeccable personal and professional ethics with a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and client service
- Ability to travel to client offices, project job sites, vendor facilities, and construction locations as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Have hands-on experience in some areas of the process plant engineering/construction business
- Working knowledge of mission critical systems such as electrical distribution, backup power, mechanical cooling, controls, fire protection, security, redundancy, and commissioning
- Strong understanding of engineering deliverable development, design reviews, constructability, procurement support, RFIs, change management, and project controls
- Strong people leadership, communication, facilitation, and client-facing skills
- Ability to serve as the primary engineering liaison with clients, project leadership, construction teams, vendors, and subcontractors
- Professional Engineer licensure in Texas or the ability to obtain licensure
