Engineering Project Manager - Business Development Lead

Job Summary
Lead business development initiatives across target markets by conducting outreach, networking, and cultivating strategic partnerships to identify and pursue new project opportunities. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings while collaborating with leadership to shape market strategy and growth plans. Support proposal development, interviews, and presentations with compelling storytelling and design insight, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business. Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities, then work closely with design teams to ensure client needs and project goals are clearly communicated. Provide mentorship and staff development to the Texas Engineering Team, assisting members with design solutions and quality assurance on client projects.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer license
- 10+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering
- Experience in developing client relationships
- Strong understanding of the design and construction process
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in working with Texas municipal governments
- Clear understanding of the grant funding process for infrastructure
- Demonstrated track record in mentoring and developing staff and teams
- Exceptional communication, networking, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Proactive, self-directed approach
- Comfort engaging with executives, developers, institutional clients, and community stakeholders
