Engineering Project Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate engineering project kickoffs, ensuring all customer, commercial, and technical inputs are received, documented, and approved prior to design start. Maintain detailed project trackers to monitor mechanical and electrical design completion, 3D modeling, busway drawing development, and BOM creation. Serve as the primary coordination point between Engineering, BIM, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management to facilitate status meetings and track dependencies. Manage engineering documentation, revision control, and technical submittals, ensuring timely incorporation of customer comments and accurate release to manufacturing systems. Provide regular internal reporting on engineering status, risks, and schedule impacts, assisting with audits and project retrospectives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or technical project execution in an industrial, electrical, or construction-related environment
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows, including design development, customer approvals, and release to manufacturing
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems, preferably including busway, power distribution, or data center infrastructure
- Experience coordinating drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple engineering workstreams and priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Effective problem solver with the ability to identify risks and escalate issues early
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed engineering environment
- 5% or less travel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting engineered-to-order (ETO) or configured product environments
- ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, or similar)
- Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar project tracking and reporting tools
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering project execution, documentation flow, and handoff to manufacturing
