Job Summary

Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems. Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies while guiding the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, or products. Manage feasibility studies to determine if designs are capable of functioning as intended and monitor documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development. Organize coordination with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery and select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient function. This role supports product development from concept through commercialization at Medtronic's Rice Creek site in Fridley, Minnesota, within a team committed to alleviating pain and restoring health.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (or, for degrees earned outside the United States, a degree that meets the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A))
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Practical experience leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and initiatives within a defined functional area
  • Advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline
  • Understanding of how work impacts other areas of the organization
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
  • U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device or other regulated industry (FDA, ISO 13485, design controls)
  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Experience managing large, complex, or global engineering programs
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, hardware/software integration, or connected devices
  • Experience working cross‐functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams
  • Experience with program management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, MS Project)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external partners or vendors
  • Experience with budget tracking, resource planning, and executive‐level reporting
  • Experience supporting product development from concept through commercialization
