Job Summary
Conduct engineering work for major City projects, including preliminary design, detailed calculations, and cost estimation for public works and traffic systems. Direct subordinate personnel, inspect construction progress, revise plans and specifications, and approve design plans and bid packages. Perform site and environmental assessments, coordinate with consultants and city departments, and develop traffic safety programs. Respond to resident inquiries, attend public meetings, and provide technical assistance to other divisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field from an accredited college, university, or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
- One (1) year of engineering experience
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in the State of Texas OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from another state with the ability to obtain an EIT Certification in the State of Texas within 6 months of employment
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college, university, or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
- Four (4) years' experience in engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas OR Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) from another state with the ability to obtain a P.E. license in the State of Texas within 6 months of employment
- Valid Class "C" Texas driver's License
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college, university, or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
- Six (6) years of experience in traffic engineering which includes at least two (2) years as a registered Professional Engineer administering municipal engineering projects
- Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer

- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer Certification (PTOE)
- Civil Engineer
- Direct Traffic Engineering experience
