Job Summary
Engineering Production Technician role performs precision mechanical and electromechanical assembly of complex, low-volume systems, with system-level integration, troubleshooting, validation, and documentation. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and work instructions; performing assembly, alignment, fastening, and component installation; conducting functional testing and validation; supporting prototype builds and transition to repeatable production; providing feedback on design issues and manufacturability; performing basic fabrication, soldering, and wiring tasks; maintaining build records and ensuring safety and quality. Requires 2+ years technical assembly experience, associate degree or equivalent, ability to read schematics/drawings, soldering/ESD practices, and strong documentation and teamwork. Opportunities for process improvement and cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams; multilingual capability in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese is a preferred qualification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in technical assembly, production, or engineering support environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and integration of complex systems
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in technical environments
- Experience using hand tools, precision measurement tools, and basic test equipment
- Ability to document work and communicate technical findings clearly
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electromechanical assemblies (wiring, sensors, actuators, etc.)
- Background in low-volume, high-mix or prototype/engineering production environments
- Familiarity with GD&T, tolerances, and precision alignment techniques
- Experience with soldering and ESD-controlled work environments
- Basic machining or fabrication experience (mill, lathe, drill press, etc.)
- Experience collaborating directly with engineering teams
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.
