Job Summary
Commission and integrate new robotic hardware into production while developing and optimizing automated synthesis workflows. Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on chemistry platforms and lab instruments, using MaintainX to log faults and track asset health. Collaborate with chemists, automation engineers, and software developers to troubleshoot reactions, monitor laboratory processes, and identify opportunities for improving platform reliability and uptime. Support service delivery by minimizing downtime and contributing to Engineering Operations SOPs. This lab-based role in Glasgow supports the development of high-throughput chemistry infrastructure across Chemifarms, requiring an early/late 2-shift, 7-day working pattern.
Required Qualifications
- BSc/equivalent in chemistry
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Problem solving attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Experience of synthetic lab work
- Availability for occasional travel
- Availability for early/late 2 shift
- Availability for 7-day working pattern
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance of scientific/industrial instrumentation
- Experience in robotics (mechanical, fluidic, pneumatic, or electromechanical)
- Experience in test and validation programme execution
