Job Summary
Lead the Hartford office and drive strategic growth for Urban Engineers across Connecticut and New England, managing business development, financial oversight, and operational excellence for the Connecticut business. Develop annual and multi-year business plans, forecast revenue, and execute proposal strategies to expand market share in transportation, aviation, facilities, rail, and transit sectors. Build executive-level relationships with public agencies, municipalities, and private partners while recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top engineering talent. Serve as Principal-in-Charge on major projects and represent the firm in industry associations and community forums.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Connecticut PE license or ability to obtain through reciprocity
- 15+ years of progressively responsible engineering, infrastructure consulting, or related leadership experience
- Demonstrated success leading business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth within the AEC industry
- Proven experience leading an engineering office, business unit, or regional practice with responsibility for operations, financial performance, staff leadership, and strategic growth
- Established relationships within transportation, aviation, facilities, rail and transit, municipal infrastructure, or related public-sector markets
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing teams while building organizational leadership capacity and succession plans
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, financial management, employee engagement, and strategic planning skills
