Job Summary
As an Engineering Manager at Crunchtime, you will manage 1-2 teams of engineers, overseeing the full talent lifecycle including hiring, retention, and performance management. You will act as a strategic partner to Product Management, balance new feature development with the technical debt, lead design reviews, and enforce high standards for TDD, CI/CD, and automation practices. The role requires a seasoned player/coach who fosters team culture through empathy while providing technical guidance when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to shape team culture through empathy.
- Experience in providing deep technical guidance when needed.
- Ability to give the team context to understand the 'why' behind tasks.
- Experience mentoring diverse teams and developing career plans.
- Passionate about engineering excellence and maintaining high code quality.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated software engineering experience in a modern tech stack.
- Proficiency with Jira, Slack, and Zoom.
- Background in developing enterprise-grade web products at scale or managing distributed systems.
- Experience with mobile development or hardware integrations.
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices and experience managing remote or distributed teams.
- A track record of contributing to open-source projects or building great relationships with coworkers.
- An interest in the specific technical and business problems in the hospitality industry.
