Job Summary
Silicon Labs is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the 802.15.4 embedded wireless networking team. This role involves hands-on embedded development while driving technical standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include mentoring a team, serving as a subject matter expert in software design and testing, raising the quality bar through reviews, managing work to software release milestones, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Candidates should have significant experience in embedded engineering, leading software teams, and collaborating across geographic locations.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in embedded engineering
- 5+ years writing unit, integration, and system-level tests
- 3+ years leading software engineering teams
- Extensive experience developing with wireless microcontrollers in real-world applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams across multiple geographic locations
- Proven success implementing engineering processes that emphasize quality, security, and maintainability
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced experience with 802.15.4 and/or Bluetooth applications
- Advanced experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making
- Healthy curiosity and experience of using AI tools to support daily development and velocity improvements
