Job Summary
Engineering Manager, Web & Mobile to lead the development of AP’s consumer-facing web and mobile apps. This hands-on, player-coach role combines technical leadership with delivery ownership and will oversee a small, distributed team including vendor partners. Responsible for hands-on coding, code reviews, and unblocking complex implementations, leading headless web apps with React/Next.js and native iOS/Android, and guiding client-side architecture, performance, accessibility, and quality standards. Collaborates with Product, Design, QA, and Platform Engineering to translate roadmaps into executable plans, coordinates web/app releases, manages incidents, and ensures post-release follow-through. Must balance hands-on development with team leadership and delivery accountability, with strong emphasis on frontend performance, reliability, user experience, and security.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience building modern consumer-facing web and mobile applications
- experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role
- strong frontend and mobile architecture knowledge
- experience managing distributed teams and external vendors
- Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience)
