Job Summary
Lead manufacturing processes and equipment to optimize safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency while reducing injuries and improving throughput. Develop, monitor, and analyze production data to identify improvement areas, then direct and mentor a team of engineering and CNC programmers. Manage CapEx projects exceeding $5M, oversee automation implementation, and ensure successful new product introductions through operational stage gates. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to bridge communication, document specifications, and maintain preventative equipment schedules. Identify root causes for manufacturing issues and drive cost reduction initiatives to improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment making consumer goods where performance and aesthetics are critical
- experience with Manufacturing processes and production flow
- Project management of Capex > $5M and duration > 6 months
- Automation
- AutoCAD
- CNC machines
- Tolerancing
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Less than 10% to local Gibson facilities
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and 6 Sigma
- Guitar experience
