Engineering Manager – Unified Telephony Platform

Job Summary
Engineering Manager leading a distributed team to architect, build, and scale a Unified Telephony Platform that connects Office Phone and CCaaS into a cloud-native communications layer. You will stay involved in architecture, design reviews, and code quality while guiding delivery of SIP signaling, media handling, IP PBX capabilities, call routing, carrier integrations, voicemail, presence, and contact center integrations. Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and AI teams to deliver highly available, scalable communication services with millions of interactions, leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, testing, and reliability. Lead with a customer-first mindset, drive architectural decisions, ensure observability and security, and mentor engineers to foster ownership and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading teams
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years in hands-on engineering leadership
- Proven experience building and scaling cloud-based telephony/UCaaS/CCaaS or communications platforms
- Strong proficiency in Golang; Python beneficial
- Experience with real-time communication systems and cloud-native architectures
- Familiarity with telephony technologies (SIP, VoIP, RTP, WebRTC, PSTN) and related platforms
