Job Summary
Lead a cross-disciplinary Engineering team within the Oil Free Air-Cooled Chiller product lines, coordinating with global stakeholders to deliver innovative new chiller products into production. Plan and direct engineering efforts to meet performance, cost, reliability, and quality goals while applying technical leadership to mentor, coach, and train staff. Manage team assignments to support product development and production strategies, ensuring fundamental engineering processes are utilized for high-quality deliverables. Exercise strong communications skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and demonstrate responsiveness to internal and external customers. Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 5+ years in HVAC/R systems, with 15-25% overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- at least 5 years of product development work experience
- Experience with HVAC/R (or adjacent) systems
- Ability to travel overnight (up to 15-25%)
- Responsibility for leading a highly-skilled, cross-disciplinary Engineering team within the Oil Free Air-Cooled Chiller product lines
- Managing and developing a team of Engineers and Technicians
- Delivering new technologies and products
- Coordinating with a global team of Engineers, Designers, project managers, product managers and operations professionals
- Work closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Service to deliver innovative new chiller products into production
- Plan and direct the efforts of engineering and technician teams to meet performance, cost, reliability and quality goals
- Demonstrate responsiveness to the customer (internal and external) and be quality minded in performance of all duties
- Apply interdisciplinary engineering expertise to provide technical leadership to highly skilled cross-disciplined engineering team
- Mentor and coach engineering team members with a passion for personal development
- Responsible for training and development of engineering staff
- Manage team member assignments to support product development and production support strategies
- Ensure fundamental engineering processes are utilized to ensure high quality engineering deliverables
- Exercise strong communications skills to support highly effective cross functional coordination and collaboration
