Job Summary
Lead VCSEL butterfly product engineering team through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from prototyping to manufacturing, including defining BOMs, manufacturing procedures, and ensuring product functionality meets customer specifications. Drive design and process decisions across multi-disciplinary teams (wafer fabrication, software/database engineering, testing, and manufacturing), manage project schedules and budgets, and pursue continuous improvements in yield and cost. Maintain strong communication with leadership and product engineering teams to deliver high-quality VCSEL butterfly devices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience designing and developing VCSEL butterfly devices
- Minimum 2 years of engineering management experience or similar leadership role in the industry
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience designing photonics integrated circuits
- Demonstrated track record of delivering VCSEL butterfly products from prototype to final products
- Hands-on experience with fiber optics including commonly-used test equipment, debugging methods, and optoelectronic components
- MS or Higher Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Ph.D. preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning, prioritizing and organization and multiple priority management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of VCSEL device physics
- Strong drive and initiative to make improvements with minimum supervision
- Strong commitment to personal development and growth
