Job Summary
Engineering Manager to establish and lead a Test & Validation function within a hardware engineering program. Build and manage a team covering test, validation, field operations, compliance, and technical documentation. Own the field validation strategy, certification pathway, and interface with partners. Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team on test article preparation, design-for-test, and field deployment readiness. Contribute to executive reporting on validation progress, certification status, and field test outcomes. Location onsite in Davis/Woodland, CA with up to 25% travel. Requires 10+ years engineering experience, 3+ years in people management, experience leading test/validation programs for outdoor mechanical or electromechanical hardware, knowledge of UL/IEC/ISO standards. Preferred: PE license, experience with accredited test laboratories, ICDs, and third-party integration. Hybrid flexibility for non-field work." ,
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years engineering experience
- 3+ years in a people management role
- Demonstrated experience leading test and validation programs for outdoor mechanical or electromechanical hardware
- Working knowledge of standards relevant to outdoor utility-scale hardware (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.)
- BS or MS in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
