Job Summary
Manage a team of Technology System and Product Performance engineers in China, overseeing direct delivery of subsystems for Dyson projects across different categories. Plan people demand, allocate resources, and prioritize engineering activities to ensure timely production delivery, occasionally participating in live work packages. Develop and execute regional strategy for fluids, thermals, and related technologies while managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets and laboratory facilities. Coach engineers on professional development to foster a high-performance culture and communicate effectively with stakeholders from graduates to board members. Willing to travel across China to collaborate with regional partners.
Required Qualifications
- A credible engineering degree
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering or product development
- Demonstrable experience of (or high potential for) leading and growing small to medium sized technical teams
- Demonstrable expertise in Fluid Dynamics, CFD, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, with application to complex consumer products and engineered systems
- Experience of managing demanding, cross-functional stakeholders with conflicting interests and motivations
- A clear logical thinker
- Exceptional attention to details
- Excellent people skills
- Emotional intelligence and empathy
- Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation from graduates to members of the board with confidence, accuracy, and appropriate detail
- Willing to Travel across China to work alongside partners
