Job Summary
Engineering Manager role based onsite in Cairo, Egypt, leading Mobile, Backend, and Web squads to deliver scalable, high-quality software. Drive strategic engineering plans aligned with business priorities, advocate best practices in architecture, testing, and DevOps, and manage resource allocation, budgeting, and staffing. Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business needs into technical solutions; foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning across cross-functional remote and in-house teams; stay abreast of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge. Requires 5+ years in Java/Kotlin or TypeScript systems, microservices experience, and strong leadership and communication capabilities. Hybrid work arrangement available in Cairo.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience managing cross-functional remote and in-house engineering teams
- Strong technical background with 5+ years of experience working with Java/Kotlin or TypeScript-based systems
- Solid understanding of software architecture and scalable system design
- Proven track record of leading large-scale software development projects (e-commerce experience is a plus)
- Experience leading teams building highly available microservices-based products
- Experience with DevOps practices and engineering operational excellence
- Strong experience with Git and software development best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with React (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with Spring Framework (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience leading hybrid teams (Nice-to-Have)
