Job Summary

Manage the execution of engineering design, analysis, or evaluation for large-scale technical projects supporting the fuel fabrication plant in Oak Ridge, TN. Direct project leads and engineering resources to ensure high-quality work products are delivered on schedule and within budget. Interpret internal and external business challenges to recommend best practices that improve products, processes, and tools. Work within a multidisciplinary team to create next-generation nuclear reactor and fuel technologies, adhering to design control procedures and facilitating internal and external design reviews. This role involves leading the planning and delivery of projects while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The team is focused on reinventing nuclear power to deliver carbon-free energy solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college
  • Ten plus years of professional experience in project engineering after completion of undergraduate study
  • Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience
  • Experience estimating time and resources needed to execute engineering activities
  • Specialized knowledge within the function of project engineering management
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Skillset to translate each objective
  • Ability to manage the execution of the engineering design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles
  • Ability to adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program / project requirements
  • Ability to manage the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects
  • Ability to ensure qualified engineers are performing assigned work
  • Ability to manage design cycle sprints
  • Ability to provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers
  • Ability to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products that are on schedule and within budget
  • Ability to manage (functional area) engineering staff
  • Ability to ensure staff are meeting expectations
  • Ability to promote staff professional development
  • Ability to influence the development of strategy, methodology, and technical tools
  • Ability to control resources and policy formulation
  • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges
  • Ability to recommend best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services

  • 10% potential travel
