Engineering Manager (Project/Operations)

Job Summary
Manage hotel engineering operations and oversee the maintenance department by establishing maintenance programs, engineering plans, and monitoring performance against targets. Conduct continual inspections of the building and equipment, implement preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical and electrical systems, and manage team rosters, training, and leave clearance. Provide advice to senior management on operational efficiency, environmental controls, and energy conservation programs while monitoring utility consumption and managing tenant contracts. Strictly implement the Permit to Work system, oversee budget preparation and cost control, and ensure all work adheres to statutory laws and brand standards. Report daily irregularities via the log book and coordinate with heads of other departments to contribute to management decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in electrical/electronic/mechanical/refrigeration and air conditioning
- Five years' experience in related work
- One year in a supervisory role
- 5-10 years of Facility management or Hotel Facility Work Experience
- Knowledge of local statutory laws
- Ability to comply with brand standards
- Ability to ensure maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Ability to manage & lead all engineering operations
- Ability to set maintenance programme, engineering plans and monitor performance
- Ability to implement and manage a preventative maintenance programme
- Ability to manage manpower, roster, training & leave clearance
- Ability to conduct continual inspections of the building
- Ability to manage equipment License renewals
- Ability to prepare and manage the department's budget
- Ability to coordinate preparation of the departmental annual budget
- Ability to monitor and control departmental costs
- Knowledge of Permit to Work system
- Ability to upload Green Engage data monthly
- Ability to manage utilities and provide monthly consumption estimates
- Ability to manage tenant contracts of MEP servicing
- Ability to execute/lead key Fire Life Safety Capital expenditure projects
- Ability to plan, implement and administer an energy-management programme
- Ability to establish energy-reduction objectives
- Ability to maintain records and report performance against energy objectives
- Ability to conduct regular education and training programmes on energy conservation
- Ability to evaluate, control and record energy usage
- Ability to implement and upgrade energy conservation systems
- Ability to ensure cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of outside contracts
- Ability to ensure work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties
- Ability to represent the maintenance department at management meetings and staff meetings
- Ability to ensure regular liaison with heads of other departments
- Ability to report daily via the log book on irregularities and steps taken to rectify problems
