Job Summary
Engineering Manager (Product Development) leads a cross-disciplinary team of product development engineers to design, develop, and launch oil-filled piezoresistive, ceramic capacitive, and thin-film pressure sensors and ultrasonic sensing systems. Provides technical direction on product architecture, design approaches, and verification/validation plans; serves as a hands-on resource in sensor design, packaging, and system integration. Works directly with customers in agriculture, industrial, and commercial vehicle environments to translate real-world needs into engineering requirements, and ensures designs are robust, manufacturable, and aligned with quality, cost, and performance targets. Requires 7–12+ years of product development engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and proven leadership in delivering sensors to production, with experience in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and PPAP. Specifically responsible for overseeing sensor architecture decisions, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and global teams, while guiding validation strategies for environmental and durability testing and driving continuous design improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7–12+ years of product development engineering experience, preferably in sensors or harsh-environment systems
- Demonstrated experience with oil-filled piezoresistive pressure sensor design
- Working knowledge ceramic capacitive and thin-film sensing technologies
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering products to production
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, electronics integration, and environmental protection methods
- Experience with structured development processes (e.g., stage-gate, APQP)
- Experience with ultrasonic sensing or time-of-flight measurement systems, preferred
- Background in agriculture, industrial equipment, or heavy-duty vehicle applications, preferred
- Experience with reliability engineering and accelerated life testing, preferred
- Exposure to global engineering or offshore support teams, preferred

- Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into engineering requirements
- Ability to drive design for manufacturability and robust production
- Leadership and hands-on role in sensor design, packaging, and system integration
- APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP experience (preferred)
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems familiarity (preferred)
- Familiar with rugged sensor design, validation, and reliability practices
- Experience with validation strategies for environmental and durability testing
- Strong collaboration with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and global teams
