Job Summary
Engineering Manager for the Platform team. You will lead a 4–6 person engineering group spanning Infrastructure, Payments & Finance, and DevEx/QA, balancing technical credibility with people leadership. Responsibilities include 1:1s and career development, running the hiring loop, and shaping an ambitious platform roadmap. You’ll stay close to the code, review and triage bugs, set and uphold technical standards, and drive reliability, quality, and ownership. You’ll own the technical direction for Platform, including database scaling for increasing transaction volume, reliability of the payments flow, and reducing friction for engineers building on top of the foundation. AI fluency is required and you’ll apply AI tools across workflows. You’ll collaborate with Product to translate business priorities into engineering work, own sprint execution, and drive launch readiness for major platform releases. The role requires 5+ years as a software engineer with 4+ years in management, hands-on code review, and a track record of hiring and mentoring engineers; experience with payments infrastructure and platform tooling is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years as a software engineer, including 4+ years managing engineering teams
- AI fluency
- Experience with payments infrastructure (e.g., Stripe)
- Experience hiring engineers and building teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate business goals into technical plans
- Ability to lead code reviews, architecture decisions, and ensure quality and reliability
- Comfort with fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience with platform reliability work or developer tooling is a plus
