Job Summary
Lead and grow a team of engineers building shared systems and infrastructure, investing in their career development through performance reviews, compensation input, and clear, direct feedback. Create clarity on priorities and execution across multiple workstreams, matching engineers to projects aligned with their growth trajectories while driving how the team applies AI across the software lifecycle. Own the hiring bar by running interview loops, trainings, and debriefs, and take on targeted, high-priority engineering work to keep delivery on track. Establish clear 1:1 rhythms with each engineer and partner with technical directors to align people with high-impact initiatives. Operate in a fast-moving, high-growth environment within a regulated domain, supporting Norm Ai's platform that powers agentic law solutions for global institutions.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing engineers
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices and system design
- Experience driving execution in fast-moving, high-growth environments
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Sound business judgment and excellent communication
- Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy domains
- AI Fluency: fluent in AI, actively using AI in day-to-day work to support thinking, creation, and problem-solving
- Candidates prepared to demonstrate and discuss AI usage throughout the interview process, including concrete examples of tools, workflows, and outcomes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading or building cloud infrastructure, platform, or shared-services systems
- Exposure to the demands of AI/ML workloads, such as LLM-based applications or data-intensive products
