Job Summary
Lead and develop the engineering team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Oversee engineering projects and support manufacturing operations to meet business objectives, driving process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and cost performance. Collaborate with production, quality, scheduling, purchasing, and sales to ensure successful project execution, establish priorities, and allocate resources. Manage team reviews, time off, and career development while promoting standardization and problem solving throughout the organization. This office-based role operates during the first shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday) with flexibility for off-site meetings. Report to the Operations Manager and supervise the Engineering Department.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading projects, mentoring team members, or supervising personnel
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, project management, and continuous improvement principles
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- 3D modeling/CAD software (Solidworks)
- Microsoft Office
- GD&T
- PC competency
- Ability to analyze detailed product specifications
- Skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people
- Skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness
- Sensitivity to the point of view of others
- Ability to properly communicate issues to supervisor, colleagues, and maintenance staff
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
