Job Summary
Lead a diverse engineering squad by managing performance, coaching career growth, and ensuring high execution standards while actively contributing to the ecosystem through code reviews and development tasks. Drive sprint execution and process optimization to prioritize urgency and delivery, partnering with Product Management and senior leadership to align milestones with company goals. Own team KPIs for code quality and performance, enforce security protocols and technical best practices, and actively participate in hiring to attract top talent. Leverage expertise in backend development or cloud infrastructure to advocate for AI-assisted development tools that accelerate prototyping and team productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in direct people and team management
- proven track record of mentoring junior developers
- managing stakeholders
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in either backend software development (Ruby on Rails preferred) or cloud systems/infrastructure engineering
- Extensive experience in at least one of the following areas: Developing, deploying, and integrating large-scale, high-traffic web applications
- Hardening application security, managing infrastructure-as-code, and working with AWS services
- Deep familiarity with design patterns
