Job Summary
Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team of approximately 10 professionals while providing hands-on technical guidance on complex solutions. Manage engineering priorities, resources, and deadlines across multiple concurrent projects to ensure high-quality delivery. Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation while driving continuous improvement across processes and standards. Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders within the business. Collaborate closely with Sales, Production, Procurement, and Service to support successful project delivery. Report directly to the Managing Director to contribute to the company's engineering strategy. This role balances strategic leadership with active involvement in technical detail within a multidisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- BEng/BSc in Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 10 years' relevant engineering experience
- Proven experience leading an engineering department or multidisciplinary engineering team
- Strong background in project engineering, design engineering and technical solution development
- Experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects (mechanical, electrical and automation)
- Experience working within ISO-controlled engineering environments
Desired Qualifications
- BEng/BSc in Mechatronics Engineering (preferred)
- Candidates with Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering degrees where supported by strong multidisciplinary engineering experience
- Experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects, ideally within the mining or heavy industrial sectors
- Demonstrated experience supporting technical sales, costing, supplier engagement and customer solutions
- Exposure to new product development and bespoke engineering solutions
