Job Summary
Manage and support the engineering function, ensuring the department conforms to company quality system procedures and establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Analyze production methods to ensure time and cost goals are reached while providing technical guidance on complex projects. Work with customers to ensure products conform to their requirements and oversee all aspects of the engineering department, including new product design and personnel management. Report on engineering performance and improvements, acting as a liaison for policy application and continuous improvement. Lead the team toward divisional objectives using technical, human, and conceptual skills within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- College degree
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Management experience
- Minimum of 10 years of automotive engineering experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an automotive manufacturing environment for processes related to GMAW welding, Stamping, or Automated Assembly
- Certification of completion of APQP, Product Lifecycle Management, Control Plan, F.M.E.A. training
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, requirements, and business correspondence
- Strong technical skills in automotive engineering
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Project management & organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment with flexibility to reprioritize, as necessary
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
