Job Summary
Own engineering execution for Machines4U, translating business priorities into sequenced roadmaps while leading a distributed team through platform modernization. Partner with product and carsales counterparts to shape the technology landscape, overseeing integrations across marketplace, CRM, payments, and reporting systems. Drive progressive migration to scalable, secure systems while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance. Provide credible engineering perspectives to senior leadership on risk, trade-offs, and capacity. This role sits within the ACIL team, focusing on high-availability product for dealership customers. Full-time Australian working rights and a National Police Record check are required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a product-led, commercially-driven environment
- Strong technical depth across modern web stacks (backend and frontend), cloud infrastructure, and API design
- Track record delivering practical engineering roadmaps that move the needle on business outcomes
- Experience operating in a mixed legacy and modern technology environment
- Natural relationship builder who can work effectively across functions
- Credible operating range: from coding standards and incident response to roadmap trade-offs and senior leadership updates
- Hands-on enough to review architecture, unblock engineers, and spot quality problems early
- Pragmatic experience balancing delivery pace and meeting standards for security, reliability, and scalability
- Must complete a National Police Record check
- Must have full-time Australian working rights
