Job Summary
Lead engineering resources in support of product development for driveline/powertrain systems, managing teams from concept through production and full life cycle. Provide resource allocation, manage priorities, and create project plans to meet Linamar's Product Development Systems requirements while controlling budgets and design documentation. Assure quality through established design reviews, maintain customer and supplier relationships, and lead new business pursuits including quotes and technical reviews. Direct design development testing, validate design/production plans, and support Lean Initiatives with simultaneous Product/Manufacturing Engineering teams. Resolve design and manufacturing issues using 8-D and 6-Panel methods, conduct performance reviews, and manage training plans for professional growth. This on-site role requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 5-7 years of management experience and includes up to 20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology OR equivalent
- minimum of 5-7 years of management experience
- Proven ability to handle customer technical meetings
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
- System and component engineering experience
- Experience with product & manufacturing technologies
- Driveline product engineering experience preferred
- Familiar with NVH development at vehicle and component level
- Computer-assisted design, manufacturing, and machining i.e. Microsoft Office, including Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
- Ability to communicate effectively to employees
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to customers, senior management, public groups and/or boards of directors
- Ability to comprehend and apply advance mathematics principles
- Ability to work with concepts such as equations, limits, statistics and engineering tools
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.), in its most difficult phases
- Ability to apply and direct appropriate use of problem-solving methods

Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science in Engineering or MBA is preferred
