Job Summary
Lead and coordinate a 15+ person engineering team for the development, manufacture, assembly, and testing of power generation systems for next-generation naval submarines. Provide project and technical oversight of design activities, manage time keeping, performance reviews, staffing, and resource planning. Prepare cost estimates, provide proposal inputs, and review proposal content for internal and external customers. Drive employee development, strategic hiring, and continuous process improvements while balancing team needs with business goals. Own and direct design processes for Turbo-Machinery, ensuring successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets. Manage a diverse staff across Mechanical, Electrical, Aerothermal, Acoustics, Structural, and Systems engineering disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work onsite at Sunnyvale, CA
- This role is 100% on-site
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 5 years of engineering experience
- Master's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline) with 3 years of engineering experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in functional/people management
- Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution
- Experience with requirements and interface management and verification
- Experience with design of fabricated and machined components, or design of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems
- Technical project management experience with proven successful execution of technical projects to cost and schedule targets
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities
- Knowledge of Design Engineering processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks
- Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management (EVM)
