Job Summary
Engineering Manager role leading mechanical engineering within the US Mechanical Business Segment. Responsible for proactive leadership of the mechanical engineering discipline, directing engineering reviews, and oversight of design plans, budgets, and project delivery. Manages larger-scale mechanical projects, coordinates with sales for business development and contract negotiation, supports strategic growth and pipeline development, ensures profitable performance and timely completion, conducts needs analyses to address skill gaps, schedules discipline meetings, develops proposal scopes, timelines, pricing and budgets, and mentors staff to support growth and engagement. Travel internationally is possible; requires adherence to applicable City/State/Federal codes and acceptable engineering practices, with emphasis on quality, safety, and functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ yrs. of Mechanical engineering experience with 5+ in the steel industry
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project (plus)
- International travel possible
- Strong personnel and project management skills
- Presentation / social skills to interact with vendors, management, and clients
