Job Summary

Lead an Infrastructure engineering team to build, operate, and scale the cloud platform that underpins CLEAR’s services, ensuring reliability, performance, and security. Own the roadmap for cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, drive automation across provisioning, deployment, and operations, establish best practices for reliability, observability, incident response, and disaster recovery, and partner with engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines and production readiness. Provide technical leadership, make architectural trade-offs, and drive operational excellence through metrics, SLAs/SLOs, and continuous cost/performance improvements. Hire, coach, and grow engineers, set goals, provide feedback, and foster accountability across the team. Experienced in cloud platforms (AWS), Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform, Pulumi), CI/CD, and distributed systems, with strong programming fundamentals in languages such as Python or Java and a focus on scalable, secure, highly available systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing software engineers, with strong coaching and team leadership skills
  • Strong experience with CI/CD systems, infrastructure automation, and release engineering
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and distributed systems architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi)
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
  • Experience designing for high availability, fault tolerance, and operational resilience
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, and or Java) and solid software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with observability tooling (monitoring, logging, tracing) and incident management practices
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence teams to adopt infrastructure and operational best practices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Curious, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
