Job Summary
Lead plant availability by managing a team of 1-3 direct reports, overseeing contractors, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime. Develop and monitor site-wide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules while coordinating mechanical and electrical responses to breakdowns. Analyze breakdown data to identify root causes and implement long-term corrective actions, alongside managing engineering budgets and critical spares stock levels. Requires a time-served Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification with significant heavy manufacturing experience. Salary £55,000 with friendly hours Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- A time-served Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification e.g. HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Significant experience working within a heavy manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding capabilities across both mechanical and electrical systems
- Proven experience in leading or managing engineering teams
- The ability to utilise a data-led approach for decision-making and stock control
- Permanent, full time role
