Job Summary
Engineering Manager leading global HSIO connector design from concept to market launch, guiding a cross-functional team, mentoring engineers, and partnering with customers and sales to define roadmaps. Responsible for end-to-end product development, prototypes, qualification, and transition to production, coordinating with Design, NPI, Operations, and Manufacturing (including China), approving engineering deliverables, performing mechanical simulations/FEA, ensuring cost/performance/reliability targets, and providing regular status reports. Must shepherd products from concept through production with strong leadership, collaboration, and communication, while sustaining a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 10 to 15+ years of progressive engineering experience
- 5 to 10+ years of project and/or people management experience
- Working with global teams, customers, and manufacturing partners is required
- Strong experience with 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks)
- Deep knowledge of connector design or small mechanical/electrical components
- Hands-on expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Metal stamping, injection molding, insert molding, and automated processes
- Tolerance analysis and FEA simulation/modeling
- Familiarity with SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP form factors
- Knowledge of standard connector testing procedures
