Job Summary
Engineering Manager for Guidewire Cloud Platform and JDP in Dublin, leading teams responsible for frontend (React, Module Federation, design system) and backend (Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot on AWS) services, driving AI-assisted development, Spec-Driven Development (SDD), and architectural governance. Responsible for team leadership, recruitment, performance management, incident management, agile process ownership, and AI tooling adoption (Copilot, Claude) to accelerate delivery while maintaining human oversight and secure-by-design principles.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years in an engineering leadership role
- experience leading multiple development teams
- designing and building microservices within cloud-based architectures
- strong understanding of frontend ecosystems (React, Node.js) and backend JVM stacks (Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot)
- experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- AI literacy or experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar)
- ability to deliver against a long-term technical roadmap
- strong communication skills and ability to align stakeholders
- experience with design documents (RFCs, ADRs) and automated testing
- experience in agile methodologies
