Job Summary
Engineering Manager for Harness FME leads a high-impact team responsible for building distributed, highly available feature management and experimentation systems at scale. Responsibilities include hiring and mentoring engineers, providing career guidance and performance evaluations, driving agile development cycles with fast customer feedback, ensuring technical governance, secure cloud integrations, and robust distributed system design. You will partner with Architects, Staff Engineers, Product Management, SRE/DevOps, and other module teams to align priorities, minimize incidents, optimize cloud costs, enforce efficient code reviews, and deliver enterprise-ready solutions. Required strength in scalable backends (Java/Golang), containerized ecosystems (Docker/Kubernetes), cloud ecosystems (GCP/AWS/Azure), databases/search tech (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch), and a track record of driving teams through ambiguous, high-velocity release cycles.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 2–3 years in engineering management or solid tech-lead capacity
- Strong experience with scalable distributed systems
- Proficiency in Java or Golang
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- Cloud platforms: GCP/AWS/Azure
- Database/search technologies: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch
- Exposure to CI/CD, automated quality gates, and distributed tracing
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills
