Job Summary
Engineering Manager to lead Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Process Engineering; provide leadership and oversight of the Engineering Department to align with business objectives, product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and program execution. Responsible for staffing, performance management, and development of engineering personnel; oversee design, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and production support; drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational-excellence initiatives; ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, ITAR/FAR/DFARS, and defense/customer requirements; collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Leadership; support new product introductions, process transfers, and production-readiness activities; manage documentation, change control, and supplier evaluations; promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; favorable for candidates with defense/aerospace experience and PMP/Lean Six Sigma certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline required
- Master's degree preferred
- 8–12 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or related industrial environments
- Minimum 3–5 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering projects and technical teams
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and production operations
- Experience with product design, process development, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, military specifications, contracts, and technical documentation
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and engineering change management processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
